Traumatic experiences impact a person’s stress responses. As a trauma informed therapist, I help my patients gain a better understanding of their emotional responses either with verbal processing or movement interventions. In therapy, I help you understand your reactions and we work together to break those negative patterns so that you can feel good about yourself and your relationships.

Hi, I'm Deniz.
Dance has always spoken to me in ways that words never could. From my earliest memories, dance has been my lens to view the world. I know that each person's body has inherent healing potential and that through a holistic therapeutic process, people can begin to move towards an integrated, embodied sense of self and improve their relationships with others. Healing through dance and movement is an effective way to connect our mind, body, and soul.
I'm a trauma informed Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. I have 20 years of experience supporting people with their mental health and am committed to the interrelationships between thoughts, emotions, actions and beliefs.
I danced professionally in New York after earning a BFA in dance from the University of Michigan. Dance/movement therapy is a bridge between my passion for dance and the healing potential of movement.
I also practice a form of CST called Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy which is an effective treatment for pain release. I hold certificates from the New York Center of the Study of Authentic Movement, The Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society and Unyte/Ils in implementing the Safe and Sound Protocol.
